Piato is a monk of Candlekeep and former tutor of Gorion's Ward. When the player speaks with him in the Candlkeep Library in Baldur's Gate Chapter 6, he will point the protagonist in the direction of a letter written by Gorion. In it, Gorion informs the player about some of the character's history; about Bhaal, the protagonist's mother, Gorion's relationship towards the protagonist's mother, and how player character is a Bhaalspawn.
