They are introduced fully during the Kantō Tournament, where they easily crush Fudomine Middle School in the semi-finals. In the finals, however, they suffer a loss to Seigaku, and return to the Nationals as underdogs. Rikkai is one of the few schools known to be a part of a junior high-university school system. It is also one of the few schools with a high school division.
