You've combined all the pieces but the pickaxe doesn't appear to work. The two main pieces fall apart with the slightest movement and you don't have much of the "white sticky stuff" left. Althought the final part of the note is damaged, you can just about make out part of a sentence that metions needing a tool or a machine to combine the different pieces. Perhaps this forge, which is connected to a strange mechanism, might do the trick?
