The 1973 Volunteer 500 was a Winston Cup (now Nextel Cup) event held at Bristol Motor Speedway on July 8, 1973. Eventual season champ Benny Parsons led 320 of the 500 laps in route to a dominating seven-lap victory over surprising L.D. Ottinger. It was Parsons' only win of his championship year.
