During its many appearances, Limbo has taken on several appearances, depending on the artist. On the majority of occasions, it vaguely resembles space, with many visible planets and stars. However, it often is differentiated by abstract swirls and patterns that call the Special Zone to mind. At other times, the space is completely unusual and may be a simple block of colour. Shortfuse the Cybernik noted that the Limbo Dimension was "weird" and that things didn't seem "right", but was reassured by Amy. Sonic the Hedgehog also showed mild discomfort during one journey.
