President "Crazy" Diego Asturias de Santillana was the charismatic leader of the National Populist Party of Egelion from 2541-2550. President Asturias de Santillana was most (in)famous for staging a run of impromptu national elections. Prior to his first run for the presidency, Diego Asturias de Santillana had been diagnoised with undifferentiated schizophrenia. After his psychotic episodes the diagnosis was revised as paranoid schizophrenia. The election of a president with a publically known mental disorder was considered a great step for equal rights in Egelion.
