The HC-360 Eidolon Command Carrier was constructed with the modern state of naval warfare in mind, following the continuing trend of starships becoming larger and being able to hold their own in combat without a fleet of support ships. It was also designed with the aim in mind to carry an extremely large fighter force in comparison with the standard Imperial Star Destroyers. However, when viewed against the Venator Cruiser from the Clone Wars era, the Command Carrier is extremely slow due to the slightly heavier shields and significantly increased armor as well as the increased firepower.
