Sonic and Sally are infiltrating Robotropolis to destroy Dr. Robotnik's new anti-matter machine, which would allow him to turn anything he chooses invisible. NICOLE detects some anti-matter emissions nearby and Sonic, cocky as ever, rushes ahead to destroy the device. However, the entrance to the room containing the anti-matter machine closes behind Sonic, separating him from Sally. Robotnik appears on a large screen in front of Sonic and reveals that the anti-matter machine is a failed experiment and he started rumors to lure Sonic into a trap. Sonic tries to set off a bomb Rotor made, but as he runs away he trips on a cord. The bomb goes off and hours later Sally finds her way back to Knothole.
