For , and the Dragon Cave team surprised the users with dressed up dragon sprites. Many of the dragon sprites had little festive additions to them, and some were recolored. The Horses, Skywings, Whites, Shadow Walkers, Blacks, Pumpkins, Nebulas, Dark Myst Pygmies, Shallow Waters, Harvests, Pillows, Day/Night Glories, Canopies, Spotted Greenwings, Deep Seas, and Nilia Pygmies were among the first with Christmas sprites, but over the Christmas event more breeds changed for the holidays. This event lasted until after Christmas, and then normal sprites returned. There was a petition on the DC forums to keep some of the recolored dragons as an alt or variation of the breed, similar to the alt Black or Nebula variations, but ultimately the topic was removed from the forums.
