Slariss was a large green snake who was worshiped by the Volcano Island vermin as a god. To please Slariss, the vermin offered travelers they captured as food for the snake. They did this by putting drugged fruit on the island. Slariss nearly ate Beau the hare before Luke the Warrior slew it.
