The barrel, used with an empty beer glass, supplies the player with an unlimited amount of beer. The beer cannot be taken outside of a player owned house. This is not commonly done as the boosts to strength obtained from beer can be easily replicated with strength potions without the Attack stat drain. When house parties were popular in Runescape, these barrels were often built for guests to obtain free beer.
