He became romantically involved with the Orion Marta, and the pair launched an attempted conquest of Canopus IV, though Marta was captured by Starfleet (Decipher RPG module: Narrator's Guide) in 2266. Vonath was considered as a potential architect of a hypothetical plot to free her (Decipher RPG module: Worlds). It is not stated if this conquest was successful or not.
