Minavar was a planet of the Minavar system in the Outer Rim Territories which was colonized during the last years of the Galactic Republic. Most of the populace was wiped out by a virus; their pleas for aid went unnoticed. At the time, people were occupied with Palpatine's institution of the New Order. Reina Gale was one of the few survivors.
