The Hardlace is a Guardian-class New Republic Naval patrol vessel. In 23 ABY, while operating out of Dac spaceport, the Hardlace was captured while answering a distress call which proved to be a trap set by notorious pirate, Shiari Vane. While in pirate hands she underwent extensive retrofitting; her weapons compliment was altered to include two ion cannons in the forward mounts, sensor counter-measures added to better evade the authorities and substantial ship batteries connected to the power plant enable her to maintain life-support while operating at low power for hours at a time.
