The movie begins with a mature, pregnant Rachel out in the fields with her parents, uncle and aunt (Elsa and Ralph, Anna and Kristoff). It begins raining with lightning, and lightning strikes and kills Ralph and Elsa. Rachel begins crying, and puts on a pink pregnancy nightgown. While mourning her parents' death, Karla Sali (the new villain) curses Rachel to turn into a mermaid in her sleep. A cursed Rachel walks to her bedroom, crying. In the middle of the night, Rachel is turned into a mermaid, carried by magic to the deep ocean.
