Muerte A. Fid was delivered in 689. He became the twelfth King of Human Xanth in 719, succeeding Yin-Yang. His talent was alchemy. Muerte murdered King Yin-Yang; Lord Bliss, Yin-Yang's son; and Magician Warren. He intended to force Rose, Bliss's daughter, to marry him. His skin was many shades of purple, he had greasy curly black hair, double-lidded black eyes and a tail. It was rumored that he was the bastard son of a priestess, who had a lewd stage act with "well-trained reptiles". Meurte was succeeded by Quan in 753. Meurte is mentioned in Question Quest.
