Death hollows were depressions of Haruun Kal's Korunnal Highland where volcanic gases could aggregate and produce toxic pockets deadly to animals. The gases stimulated plant growth, however, causing death hollows to become even more profuse with plant life than the rest of the surrounding jungle.
