Taro and his family are shipwrecked on Sunny Island, along with the main character. Taro serves as a sort of mentor while playing, as he is very helpful and offers the main player farming advice. Additionally, Taro comes to the farm each day and picks up any products that have been shipped in the shipping bin. He watches over his grandchildren Elliot and Natalie closely, and works along side his daughter Felicia.
