The Redactor was an electronic warfare deception system developed in the Solarian League. It was a system for feeding false images into military or civilian sensors and creating confusion during battle. The equipment had to be hard-wired into the transmission line leading from the actual sensor to the computer or display. Warships had hundreds or thousands of sensor lines, each of which required their own Redactor device. A civilian freighter, with fewer sensor systems, required fewer Redactor devices.
