The Village is a 2004 American psychological horror film written, produced, and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. The movie was shot in a re-creation of a 19th-century village outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, following Shyamalan's penchant for staging his films near his hometown. It stars Bryce Dallas Howard, Joaquin Phoenix, William Hurt, Adrien Brody, Sigourney Weaver, Brendan Gleeson, Celia Weston, Michael Pitt and Jesse Eisenberg.
