Clement Dessie Smith (17 February 1928 - 8 December 2011) was a Argnorian socialist politician and professor. He was born in 1928 to Gerald Smith and Catrina Smith. His father was a poor coal miner who worked for the Berkley Bros. and his mother was a full time house wife. He came from a family of 13 children and he was the second youngest. He was determined to make something of his life and not spend his years in the mines. He achieved academic excellence at the local comprehensive and was offered a place in the Royal Moroth Academy were he studied economics, law and politics. He soon went on to earn a doctorate in law and began lecturing around the country in the topic.
