The grand elf is upgrade of the Wood elf, the third-level creature of the Rampart in Heroes of Might and Magic III. It can be found at the Upgraded Homestead. The grand elf has very similar stats to the wood elf, but the ability to shoot twice makes this a great improvement. The upgrade ensures that the Rampart forces will have decent ranged support.
