Isawa Taisho was a Fire shugenja and Jade Magistrate of the Phoenix Clan. In 1199 Taisho attended winter court at Toshi Ranbo. Taisho was considered a hero for his deeds, but he knew absolutely nothing about diplomacy. His lack of performance remove supports to his clan in their conflict with the Unicorn. He was out-shamed only by Asako Maemuki. Taisho was one of the many attendants of the winter court who honored Yasuki Aitoko, dead during the fires of the Imperial Library.
