Bisexual chic is a cultural trend in which it becomes permissible, even admired, to assert bisexuality as one's sexual orientation. It has been observed societally in the Western World at various points since the 1970s. It correlates generally to periods in which tolerance of gay men, lesbian women, transgendered and intersex people become more acceptable in mainstream culture.
