The Killer Instinct Novella, also known as simply the KI Novella, is a web-based novella written about the events of Killer Instinct (2013) during the release of Season 3. It is primarily written by Noble Smith with the exception of Chapter 6, which was written by former Killer Instinct composer Mick Gordon. The novella's chapters are periodically released online on the official Killer Instinct website, and the story focuses mainly on the characters of Season 3, while also promoting the upcoming Shadow Lords mode that was ultimately released on September 20, 2016.
