Bonus content includes motion comic adaptations of the Metal Gear Solid comics by Kris Oprisko, Alex Garner, and Ashley Wood and a 100-page booklet that catalogs numerous promotional posters and brochures related to the games in the compilation. The Legacy Collection was released in North and South America on July 9, 2013, in Japan on July 11, 2013, in Europe on September 12, 2013, and in the United Kingdom on September 13, 2013.
