Ronald Herdman appeared in two roles in Coronation Street: in September and October 1970 he played food wholesaler Walter Gilfeather and returned to the programme in January 1977 as expectant father George Handforth. He also appeared in Z Cars, The Prince and the Pauper, The Onedin Line, The Borgias, Play for Today, Peak Practice and on the big screen he was the Vicar at the first of the Four Weddings and a Funeral.
