Pembroke, otherwise known as Hockey Town, is a town of about 14,000 people in the western Ottawa Valley in Ontario. There have been several Lumber Kings teams in history. There was a junior team in the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's named the Pembroke Little Lumber Kings. In the 1960's with the folding of the senior Lumber Kings, the word "Little" was dropped from the junior team's moniker and they became the Lumber Kings. There was a senior team from 1898 to 1935; and a senior team from 1946-61.
