The Giant Monarch Butterfly is a bonus non-adoptable animal that can be unlocked by obtaining a low score in the Extinct Research Lab cloning mini-game. They act as ambient animals when released from their crates and, like all ambient animals, eventually disappear. It looks just like the regular ambient butterfly but bigger. In the user-made expansion pack Bogus Bugz, the Monarch Butterfly appears as a Temperate Forest animal. It has a special drink that is called "Nectar Drink."
