The Epigraph Trilogy is a popular way in English to refer to the trilogy made up of the titles Epigraph of the Closed Curve, Pandora of Eternal Return, and Altair at the Apoapsis of Infinity. The term can refer to either the original light novels or their manga adaptations. The trilogy focuses on the Okabe Rintarou of the Beta Attractor Field after he first failed to save Makise Kurisu and gave up. The series depicts the effects of his giving up and the events that will eventually lead him to stand again, and in the future create the C204 time machine and the video D-mail that is key to helping the main story's Okabe of August 21, 2010 discover the way to save Kurisu and enter the Steins Gate world line.
