It resulted in Abbas overthrowing the Mentor Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, and subsequently forcing him into exile along with his son, Darim. During the twenty years of Abbas' reign, the Assassin Order fell into disrepute, until Altaïr eventually reclaimed his position in 1247.
