The Elite Guard of the Sons of Korhal were a military unit within the rebel movement, distinct from Alpha Squadron. The Elite Guard appeared as a Terran Dominion unit several times within the Brood War. During the Second Great War, strike teams of the Elite Guard were deployed during the invasion of Korhal to repel the initial planetfall of the Zerg Swarm, but failed to stop the zerg from securing a foothold on the world. The elite guard took command of the final defense around the Korhal Palace as the zerg advanced into the city, but failed to defend their emperor.
