Spadea NS-267; ©1964; Lachasse of London A typical favorite of this generation is this model, for it is planned to do double duty. The dress has no side seams so that the bodice has a plastron effect, extending into the deeply inverted side pleats both front and back. The contoured cummerbund detail is placed so that (if you wish for a cover up jacket - like the accompanying illustration) it will meet up with the brief side-buttoned jacket #NS-268. Needless to say, couture dressmaking is much in evidence, as witness the hidden zipper on the back of the left side, the dropped and molded shoulder, and the side seams of the paneled front.
