Franchot et Fils (French for Franchot & Son) was a Terran survey firm whose survey ship Suffren made the first voyage to the Manticore System around 753 PD and conducting its survey for the following year. They later sold their rights to the system to Manticore Colony, Ltd. per auction and afterwards erased all data of the colony-to-be from their databanks, only sending a copy to the Federal Government of Earth's World Data Bank where it was stored among the maximum security files. The price paid for the Manticore System was about 5.75 billion EuroDollars.
