Uryste is a wizard from the Black Hand. Beleth suspects that she is the lover of Master Rem. Whichever their relationship, it is clear that she works for the Division of Diabolical Devices. She was seen for the first time at the D.D.D. research facility (also known as the Black Asylum) at the bottom of Aborek, in the Bleeding Moon of 438. At the time, the Diabolicals were working on manipulating sand golems, as well as on a project to forge a dragonstone ring.
