MainStage is the live performance tool which is part of Logic Studio. It is used to fine-tune instruments on the "main stage". It can also be plugged into devices to be controlled away from the Mac. MainStage comes with a pre-loaded set of templates to be used in many performances but many people who wish to go further they can create their own. Apogee is the recommended brand for hardware.
