Trifolium pratense (red clover) is a species of clover, native to Europe, western Asia and northwest Africa, but planted and naturalized in many other regions. The isoflavones and phytoestrogens from Red Clover have been used in alternative medicine to treat the symptoms of menopause. It has been shown to contain compounds like caffeic acid that starve tumors and reduce inflammation. Caffeic acid has been shown to act as a carcinogenic inhibitor. 1.
