Levardis Robert Martyn "LeVar" Burton, Jr., is an American actor, presenter and author. His well-known roles include Kunta Kinte in the ABC miniseries Roots, Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Kwame in Captain Planet and The Planeteers, as well as hosting the PBS TV series Reading Rainbow. He voiced local Haitian man Jean-Claude in The Quest for Beasts. He appeared in Animated Historical Heroes as Steve Biko. He appeared in Disney's Animal Kingdom Adventures as African park ranger Teku Bakani. He appeared in Atlantis: The Tree of Life as a Masai warrior.
