Novak was a star with an associated star system located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. This system was centered orbiting a G type star, named for Captain Gerald Novak of the USS Alfred North Whitehead, who discovered it. Each planet in the system was named for a member of his family.
