USS Coral Sea (NCC-1871) was a Miranda-class light cruiser on active duty in Starfleet during the late 23rd century. Her commanding officer in the 2280s and 90s was named Opatashu. The registry number and class of Coral Sea conflicts with that of USS Dardanius (Ships of the Star Fleet). Coral Sea and Dardanius may exist in two different continuities. Saavik briefly served aboard Coral Sea in 2294, until she opined to Captain Opatashu that he was incompetent. (Orion Press: Chekov's Enterprise)
