The Path to Heaven was a titanic mountain which sat on Yomi, the Realm of Blessed Ancestors, with innumerable shrines and temples ringing its base. It served much the same function as the Imperial City did in the mortal realm. Representatives of all clans, families, and factions gathered to debate important matters. The peak disappeared far into the clouds, and the shiryo believed that at the top laid a passage to Tengoku, the Celestial Heavens.
