The German 218th Infantry Division (218.Infanterie-Division in German) was a large military unit that served in World War II. It was constructed along the standard organizational lines for a German infantry division, and was entirely limited to leg and horse mobility. The 218th Infantry served in the Invasion of Poland as a reserve division for the 4th Army in Army Group Centre. The division was commanded by Woldemarr Freiherr Grote and comprised the 323rd, 386th, and 397th infantry regiments. The 218th Infantry surrendered in the Courland pocket on May 8, 1945.
