Bayushi Noburu was the father of Bayushi Yojiro. He was also an advisor to the Scorpion Clan Champion, Bayushi Shoju. When a Crane duelist was about to trap Shoju in a duel he couldn't refuse, Noburu saw a way out of the situation, therefore saving the life of the Scorpion daimyo. In return for his quick thinking, Shoju offered him a boon. Noburu responded that what he wanted was to let his son serve the Scorpion Champion as he did. Shoju agreed, and the young Yojiro was admitted to the Bayushi Courtier school.
