The Tyran hatchet is the best hatchet available in terms of its ability to cut wood. It is a members-only tool. It is both a weapon (requiring 80 Attack to wield) and a Woodcutting tool (requiring 81 Woodcutting to use). The Tyran hatchet is 5% faster than both the Inferno adze and the Dragon hatchet. Players can make a Tyran hatchet with the Smithing skill at level 96 using 1 Tyran bar giving the player 100 Smithing experience.
