Augustus Edward Hughes, FRIBA. Born 22 December 1874 in Marylebone, son of Eldred Augustus Hughes, architect. He was a member of the Worshipful Company of Coach and Coach Harness Makers (of which he was Master in 1937) and became a freeman of the City of London in 1911. He died, aged 100, in 1975.
