The Aydanes are a race of tiny sapients which have, until recently, possessed no known technologies, and instead simply boarded a group of vessels that had come to survey their homeworld, allowing them to pass between numerous worlds and ships in a manner similar to how rats were spread across the planet Earth. Once thought to be pests, they were set upon by the various sapient races (and the occasional non-sapient beast) in an attempt to eradicate them from the worlds and ships they were believed to have "infested".
