Ramon Bada is one of the lead antagonists, along with accomplise Alonso Perez trying to stop Tintin, Thompson and Thomson, Sophocles Sarcophagus, Professor Euclide and Patrash Pasha from obtaining a rare Diamond in The Broken Ear. Bada, hailing from San Theodoros, tends to use more Spanish in his Speech than Perez. While engaged with Tintin onboard the S.S. Washington in a hand-to-hand combat for a Diamond concealed in the Idol, Ramon and Alonso fall into the Sea but saved by Tintin and his Friends. They are both shown arrested in jail after being rescued in New York City.
