Bloodbending is a sub-technique, as well as an illegal technique of Waterbending in the TV shows; Avatar: The Last Airbender, and the sequel series; The Legend of Korra. It allows gifted Waterbenders to take control of the water inside the blood in anyone's body. Only skilled and powerful Waterbenders are capable to use this technique. Originally, Bloodbending could only be used to during the full moon because Waterbenders are strongest during the full moon. However, as the years went by, there have been a select few Waterbenders who can perform Bloodbending without the aid of the full moon. It was also revealed that Bloodbending also has a few other sub-techniques as well including Psychic Bloodbending, and Bending Severing.
