"Murder tax" was the name given to a tax imposed on the desert planet Tatooine by Jabba the Hutt, an Outer Rim crime lord, as a penalty for committing a murder. To avoid being hit with the tax, criminals would sometimes hide the bodies of their deceased targets so Jabba would not discover what had transpired.
