The Torah or the first 5 books of the Hebrew Bible is the sacred text of Judaism, analogous to the Bible's relationship with Christianity or The Koran's relationship with Islam. Christians accept parts of the Torah which they call the Old Testament. Despite this, there is significant disparity in the ways Christians and Jews observe their shared scriptures; for example, adherents of contemporary Judaism and contemporary Christianity do not celebrate the same religious holidays.
